Earning a high school diploma is one of the first steps on the path to success. Home Run Scholars helps youth in low-income communities graduate from high school and successfully transition into post-secondary education or training. Home Run Scholars has doubled high school graduation rates among participants, and dropout rates have declined by as much as 70 per cent in participating communities. In 2014, Jays Care Foundation is expanding the Home Run Scholars program; through a $1 million national partnership with Pathways to Education, the Home Run Scholars program is working to make Canada a "Graduation Nation."
The outcomes of this partnership include: increased student enrolment, fewer young people struggling in high school, increase in graduation rates, increased transition to post-secondary education and training, and a transformative shift in culture - young people believing they can graduate and achieve their dreams.
