Christopher Ryan (Chris) Snyder...Christopher Ryan (Chris) Snyder...Christopher Ryan (Chris) Snyder...Attended the University of Houston, batting .343 with a school record 71 RBI during his junior season in 2002, and received third-team All-America honors from the NCBWA, All Conference-USA First team honors and Baseball America second team All-America honors...Selected as 1 of 3 finalists for the 2002 Johnny Bench Award, bestowed upon the nation's top collegiate backstop...was the starting catcher on Team USA during 2001.

Snyder hit a career-high .277 (61 games) as a backup catcher. He also set career highs in RBIs (32) and tied a career high in home runs (six). Snyder saw more regular playing time the final month of the season. He is expected to receive the majority of the starts at catcher in 2007.
