Former big league outfielder is in his third season as the Dodgers' hitting coach...under Ward's guidance, the Dodgers established franchise records with 553 extra-base hits, 312 doubles, 221 home runs and a .437 slugging percentage in 2017...prior to joining the Dodgers, Ward spent three seasons on the Major League staff of the Diamondbacks (eight seasons overall in the Arizona organization), where he was Arizona's hitting coach from 2014-15 and assistant hitting coach in 2013...he combined to go 216-190 (.532) in four seasons as manager of Rookie GCL Pirates (2006), Short Season-A State College (2007) and Double-A Mobile (2011-12)... his teams won back-to-back Southern League championships in 2011-12 and he was named the 2011 SL Manager of the Year...Ward spent three seasons as Mobile's hitting coach (2008-10) 2012, he was a coach for the World Team at the 2012 All-Star Futures Game at Kauffman Stadium, and he also managed the South Division in the SL All-Star Game.


Ward spent 12 seasons in the Major Leagues (1990-2001) with the Indians (1990-91), Blue Jays (1991-93), Brewers (1994- 96), Pirates (1997-99), Diamondbacks (1999-2000) and Phillies (2001)…in 626 games, he hit .251 with 73 doubles, 11 triples, 39 homers and 219 RBI.


Turner Max Ward is married to Donna and has three children: Tucker, Olin and Kendall...his son Tucker, a right-handed pitcher, was selected in the 40th round of the 2015 First-Year Player Draft by Arizona...Ward attended Faulkner State Junior College and the University of South Alabama...Ward was inducted into the Southern League Hall of Fame in 2015, the Mobile (AL) Sports Hall of Fame in 2007 and Alabama Junior College Hall of Fame in 1996...he enjoys woodworking and in between his playing and coaching days, he built spec homes in Alabama...he earned his bachelor's degree in business administration from the University of Phoenix in 2015.
