MANAGING/COACHING CAREER: Lee is in his second season as the Mariners first base coach, and his fifth season as a Major League first base coach overall...also worked with Seattle's baserunners, and with the outfielders on defense... spent the 2006-08 seasons as the Arizona Diamondbacks first base coach...also worked with outfielders in Arizona...was the roving minor league outfield instructor for Arizona from 2003 thru 2005...held same position in the Anaheim system in 2002...began coaching career as hitting coach with El Paso (AA) in the Texas League.

PLAYING CAREER: Selected by Oakland with its first pick (11th overall) in 1987 Draft...had a 14-year playing career, including spending time in the Majors with Seattle (1993, 1997), Boston (1994-1995, 1996) and Philadelphia (1996)...hit .241 (210x870) in 361 career Major League games...made Major League debut with Seattle in 1993 and returned to Mariners to close out big league career in 1997...made his ML debut as a defensive replacement April 6, 1993 vs. TOR...first ML hit was a pinch-hit single off Gregg Olson (BAL)...had a seven-hit game (7-for-8 with a triple, two home runs) with Calgary (at Las Vegas) after being optioned...was recalled and collected first ML home run July 21 at New York (off Steve Farr)...posted two longest hitting streaks of his career with the Red Sox in 1995, opening the season with a 14-game streak, and adding a 15-game string June 10-25.
