The 2013 Mets Fantasy Camp came to an end on January 20th with the campers resisting the idea of going back to the airport. This year's camp was highly competitive as campers enjoyed the experience of a lifetime down in Port St. Lucie.
Throughout the week the campers met each other, formed new friendships, and competed with one another while mixing in some fun activities like the Kangaroo Court and Bull Session. The Kangaroo Court led by the honorable Doug Flynn and Bobby Wine was a huge success and all the money raised went to the Gary Carter Foundation. A great cause to contribute to the campers 'mishaps' on and off the field.
Coached by Rodney 'Crash' McCray, Pete Schourek, and Mookie Wilson, the Earthshakers defeated team Wine and Dine in a thrilling championship game to put an end to the weeks' worth of games. The following day each team battled the Pros at Tradition Field before they set off to return home. The 2013 camp proved to be one of the most enjoyable and captivating camps yet, with the coaching and training staff in agreement that the quality of skill and health was a key factor in its success. As always the campers walk away with an unbelievable experience that none of them will ever forget!
