Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today that the club has acquired first baseman Dan Vogelbach and right-handed pitcher Paul Blackburn from the Chicago Cubs in exchange for left-handed pitcher Mike Montgomery and right-handed pitcher Jordan Pries.

The highlight will be the pregame ceremony on Saturday night when the number 24 becomes the first number of a Mariners player to be retired by the franchise.

In honor of Griffey's induction, a limited edition commemorative bat has been created with proceeds from the sale going to an endowment in Griffey's name at Seattle Children's Hospital.

Robinson Canó of the Seattle Mariners has been selected by the players to play for the American League in the 87th Major League Baseball All-Star Game on Tuesday, July 12 at Petco Park in San Diego. Canó is making his 7th All-Star Game appearance, T5th-most among active players, and his 6th Midsummer Classic appearance in the last seven years.
