PHOENIX -- Just a couple spots remain for the Arizona Diamondbacks' second annual Fantasy Camp Jan. 14-20, 2007 at Tucson Electric Park and the Pima County Kino Sports Complex, the D-backs spring training facility in Tucson.

More than 70 participants representing six states are already enrolled to take part in this winter's camp, including 28 campers who participated in the D-backs inaugural Fantasy Camp in January 2006. Throughout the week, participants will receive first-hand instruction from former D-backs players and will use the same training fields, batting cages and clubhouses as the current Arizona Diamondbacks major and minor league players. Daily activities include drills, batting practice and games among campers, who are divided among six teams. There are also nightly gatherings as well as an awards banquet at the end of the week.

Included in the list of Fantasy Camp instructors are members of the D-backs 2001 World Championship team, Greg Colbrunn, Mark Grace, Matt Mantei and Matt Williams. Grace and Williams will return for their second camp, as well as former D-backs relief pitcher Mike Fetters.

D-backs major league staff personnel who are serving as instructors are third base coach Chip Hale, first base coach Lee Tinsley, hitting coach Kevin Seitzer and bullpen coach Glenn Sherlock. Minor league staff personnel serving as instructors include Triple-A Tucson manager Bill Plummer, Double-A Mobile pitching coach Dan Carlson and minor league field coordinator Jack Howell.

A Campers vs. Coaches game will take place at 1:45 p.m. on Jan. 19 at Tucson Electric Park, with D-backs broadcaster Daron Sutton providing play-by-play over the public address system. D-backs Hall of Fame broadcaster Joe Garagiola Sr. and team president Derrick Hall will also be special guest speakers during the camp.

The $4,000 cost includes six nights accommodations at the JW Marriott Starr Pass Resort & Spa in Tucson, two personalized authentic D-backs uniforms (home and batting practice), breakfast and lunch each day and an invitation to the Camp Reunion Party at a 2007 D-backs game at Chase Field.
