PHOENIX -- The Arizona Diamondbacks have selected managers and coaches for their minor league affiliates for the 2006 season, as announced today by Diamondbacks' Manager of Minor League Operations A.J. Hinch.

The Tucson Sidewinders (AAA) will have a familiar staff, with Chip Hale returning for a third season as manager of the Pacific Coast League affiliate. He is a veteran of six seasons in the Diamondbacks' organization, owns a career 314-264 managerial record, a .543 winning percentage. Mike Parrott returns for his ninth season in the Diamondbacks system, and fourth as Tucson's pitching coach, while Lorenzo Bundy returns for his third season as the Sidewinders' hitting coach.

Bill Plummer will serve as manager at Tennessee (AA) of the Southern League. Plummer earned his 1,000th career managerial victory last summer while serving as skipper at Lancaster (A), guiding the JetHawks to the California League Championship Series. Dan Carlson returns in his role as the pitching coach, while the hitting coach position will be filled at a later date.

Former Major League outfielder Brett Butler makes his managerial debut at Lancaster in 2006, after serving as the Diamondbacks' first base coach last season. Pitching coach Jeff Pico and hitting coach Damon Mashore return to their respective roles.

The staff for the Midwest League Champion South Bend Silver Hawks (A) remains intact for next season, with manager Mark Haley returning for a second season, joined by pitching coach Wellington Cepeda and hitting coach Tony Dello.

The coaching staffs for both of Arizona's short-season teams are unchanged for the 2006 campaign. Jay Gainer will serve a second season as manager for the Yakima Bears (A) in the Northwest League. He will be joined by pitching coach Erik Sabel and hitting coach Luis De Los Santos. The Missoula Osprey will be guided for a second season by manager Hector De La Cruz. Pitching coach Mel Stottlemyre Jr. and hitting coach Jerry Stitt also return to work with players in the rookie-level Pioneer League.

Jack Howell returns for a fourth season in the Diamondbacks organization, and his second as minor league field coordinator. Dennis Lewallyn, whose service with the Diamondbacks dates back to their first season of minor league play in 1996, returns for his fifth season as pitching coordinator. Tony Perezchica, who served as manager at Tennessee last season, moves into the role of infield coordinator, with Rick Schu returning for his third season as the organization's hitting coordinator. Eric Fox, who spent the 2005 season as the Double-A hitting coach, will serve as the farm system's outfield coordinator for the upcoming season.
