    Major League Baseball announced this afternoon that Houston Astros starting pitcher Dallas Keuchel has been named the American League Pitcher of the Month for April.

    Major League Baseball announced this afternoon that Houston Astros second baseman Jose Altuve has been named the American League Co-Player of the Week along with Oakland A's outfielder Josh Reddick for the week of April 27-May 3. It marks the first time that Altuve has won this award.

  • Astros announce minor league Players of the Month for April

    The Houston Astros Player Development Department has named April's Minor League Pitchers and Players of the Month at each of their four in-season minor league affiliates. These awards are chosen every month by the field staff of each team.

  • Astros announce special ticket promotion to celebrate best start since '86

    The Astros are inviting fans to celebrate the ballclub's best start since 1986 with a special ticket promotion that offers limited lower level and 200 level seats for $19.86 for Monday-Thursday games in the month of May. The promotion includes a price reduction of up to 50%.

    The Astros ended the month of April as the hottest club in the Major Leagues, riding a seven-game win streak while also winning 11 of their last 12 games.

  • Astros Place Lowrie on 15-day DL

    The Houston Astros have placed shortstop Jed Lowrie on the 15-day Disabled List with a ligament tear in his right thumb. The tear will require surgery and will sideline him until after the All-Star Break. The announcement was made by Astros General Manager Jeff Luhnow.

  • Red-Hot Astros Club Returns for Seven Game Homestand this Week

    HOUSTON, TX - The upcoming homestand for the Astros, who are currently in first place in the AL West, will feature two more division opponents as they host the Seattle Mariners from Thursday, April 28 through Sunday, May 3 and the Texas Rangers from Monday, May 4 to Wednesday, May 6. The Astros are currently one of the hottest clubs in the Majors, having won four straight and eight of their last nine games. The homestand will also include a special bobblehead giveaway of Astros superstar Jose Altuve on Saturday, as well as the return of the popular Dog Day celebration on Sunday, which includes the chance for fans to bring their dogs onto the field.

  • 2015 Astros RBI Program to hold tryouts for summer baseball and softball leagues

    Astros RBI, a free baseball and softball program funded by the Astros Foundation, is holding tryouts for their summer baseball and softball leagues in the upcoming weeks at the Houston Astros Urban Youth Academy, located at 2801 S. Victory Drive, Houston, TX 77088.
