Royals place OF Alex Gordon on 15-day disabled list; recall INF Cheslor Cuthbert
The Kansas City Royals announced Monday that they have placed outfielder Alex Gordon on the 15-day disabled list with a scaphoid fracture in his right wrist.
Royals reinstate 3B Mike Moustakas
Moustakas, 27, is hitting .258 with six doubles, seven homers and 13 RBI in his first 25 games this season. He played in two rehab games with the Naturals, going 2-for-8 with an RBI.
Royals select Merrifield; option Colon; designate Martinez for assignment
The Royals have selected the contract of infielder/outfielder Whit Merrifield from Triple-A Omaha. In corresponding roster moves, the club has optioned infielder Christian Colon to Omaha and designated outfielder Jose Martinez for assignment.
Royals recall Mills as 26th man; send Moustakas, Minor on rehab assignments
The Kansas City Royals announced today that they have recalled right-handed pitcher Alec Mills from Northwest Arkansas as the 26th man for today's split doubleheader with the Boston Red Sox. Mills, 24, a 22nd-round pick by the Royals in 2012, is 1-1 with a 2.36 ERA in seven starts for the Naturals. He leads the Texas League with 44 strikeouts in 42.0 innings this season.
Royals-Red Sox game postponed
Tonight's game between the Kansas City Royals and the Boston Red Sox has been postponed due to rain. The game has been rescheduled for Wednesday, May 18 at 7:15 p.m. CT as the second game of a split doubleheader.

The 2015 World Champion Kansas City Royals will host the Atlanta Braves (May 13-15) and Boston Red Sox (May 16-18) during the next homestand. Many great events will occur including Salute to the Negro Leagues Day, Dressed to the Nines (May 15) and Tourism Night (May 17). Fans can also get the Ned Yost bobblehead, the first of the 2015 World Series Commemorative bobbleheads, on May 14.
