Jackson back in D-backs' lineup
Left fielder missed two games after oral surgery
PHOENIX -- Conor Jackson was back in the lineup on Sunday after missing a pair of games following minor oral surgery.
Though the surgery was minor, Jackson was given some medication afterward that he had a hard time adjusting to.
"I went down to hit before Friday's game, and I got dizzy and light-headed," Jackson said. "The same thing happened yesterday."
Jackson, though, was better on Sunday, and he was in the lineup against Matt Cain, against whom he had hit .385 in his career. He singled off Cain in his second at-bat, and drove in the game-winning run in the 12th inning as the D-backs defeated the Giants, 5-4.
Eric Byrnes, who went 5-for-9 while filling in for Jackson, remained in the lineup on Sunday, as he filled in for center fielder Chris Young, who was getting a day off.
"He's a guy that I tend to run out there until he looks like he's tired, and you don't really want to get to that point," manager Bob Melvin said of Young, who had started each of the team's 17 games prior to Sunday.
