Davis on schedule for Wednesday start
D-backs lefty no longer experiencing triceps discomfort
TUCSON -- Doug Davis threw a bullpen session on Sunday and is on track to start on Wednesday against the Brewers at Tucson Electric Park.
Discomfort in his triceps area forced Davis to miss his last start and caused concern that the injury might be serious. Instead, Davis has not experienced any problems since.
"He looked good," D-backs manager Bob Melvin said.
Provided Davis does not experience any setbacks, he should be ready to go when the season opens.
"If you get up to 90 pitches, you should be able to make your first start," Melvin said.
Davis will throw two to three innings and around 40 pitches on Wednesday.
