NASHVILLE -- The D-backs added another reason for fans to purchase season tickets on Monday.

Actually, it's more like a reduction, a 50 percent one at that.

Fans purchasing or renewing full-season ticket packages for the 2008 season will receive at least a 50-percent discount over premier single-game ticket prices.

The new pricing plan includes reduced prices for 29 percent of the seats at Chase Field and no price increase for 76 percent of them.

On the field level, some Baseline Reserve seats were reduced from $20 to $15, while Bullpen seats were cut from $16 to $15 and most Bullpen Reserve seats from $16 to $10.

All three price categories on the Insight Diamond Level experienced reductions that ranged from $4 to $19 per game. The MVP Box seats on the upper level were dropped to $17 from $19 and the Infield Reserve and Outfield Reserve seats were not increased and remain at $8 and $5, respectively.

"It's common practice in the sports industry to impose a slight ticket price increase on an annual basis, especially after experiencing an exciting and successful season like we did last year," team president Derrick Hall said. "However, it remains our philosophy to reward our most loyal fans, who make a commitment to us by purchasing season tickets, while continuing to offer a safe and affordable entertainment experience."

This is the second straight season the D-backs have reduced or held the line on prices for a majority of the seats at Chase Field.

The D-backs, who drew 2,325,233 fans last season, were ranked as the best value in baseball with an average ticket price of $13.79 in 2007, according to Team Marketing Report.

Fans wishing to purchase season tickets can call D-backs season ticket representatives at (602) 514-8400 for more information.
