The Astros, led by Carlos Beltran's two homers, beat the Braves, 12-3, in Game 5 to win their NL Division Series. The Astros advance to the NLCS where they will face the Cardinals, who ousted the Dodgers in four games. In the ALCS, the Red Sox and Yankees meet again after Boston beat Anaheim and New York defeated Minnesota in the AL Division Series.
Alex Rodriguez scored the series-clinching run on a wild pitch as the Yankees beat the Twins, 6-5, in 11 innings in Game 4. Ruben Sierra helped force the game into extra innings with a three-run homer in the eighth.
Albert Pujols and Reggie Sanders homered to help lift the Cardinals to a 6-2, series-clinching victory in Game 4 over the Dodgers. Jeff Suppan allowed two hits and two runs over seven innings for the win.
David Ortiz hit a walk-off homer over Fenway Park's Green Monster in the 10th inning to give the Red Sox an 8-6 win in Game 3 and a sweep of their AL Division Series. Vlad Guerrero hit a grand slam in the seventh for Anaheim.
