Alex Rodriguez's eighth-inning grand slam Tuesday night in Atlanta not only tied the Yankees and Braves at 4-4, but also tied A-Rod with Bombers legend Lou Gehrig for first place on the all-time grand slam list at 23.
Fifteen-year-old Yankees fan Randy Kearns of Asheboro, N.C., was in the right place at the right time, catching the record-tying blast with his cap from the first row in left field.
Kearns later returned the ball to Rodriguez in exchange for a package of souvenir bats and balls.
