32 players from D-backs' 2001 World Series team scheduled to return to Chase Field for World Championship Reunion Weekend Sept. 9-11

PHOENIX - The Arizona Diamondbacks announced today that former Managing General Partner Jerry Colangelo, former executives Rich Dozer and Joe Garagiola, Jr., former manager Bob Brenly, Glen Sherlock and former coach Bob Welch as well as 32 players from the D-backs' 2001 World Series team are scheduled to return for World Championship Reunion Weekend, presented by Gila River Casinos, Sept. 9-11 at Chase Field.

The celebration begins on Sept. 9 when purple and teal pinstripes will make a comeback as the 2011 team will wear the same jerseys the D-backs wore during Game 7 of the 2001 World Series when they face the San Diego Padres beginning at 6:40 p.m. Following the game, fans in attendance will be treated to a post-game fireworks show featuring at-bat walk-up music from members of the 2001 team, courtesy of Gila River Casinos.

The first 25,000 fans in attendance for the 5:10 p.m. game on Sept. 10 game will receive a World Championship Replica Ring, courtesy of Chase. Prior to the game, members of the D-backs' 2001 World Championship team will be introduced during an on-field reunion ceremony beginning at 4:30 p.m. Ballpark gates will open at 2:30 p.m. to allow fans enough time to get in their seats prior to the pre-game ceremony. Fans at that night's game will also be treated to a recap of Game 7 of the 2001 World Series during inning breaks.

World Championship Reunion Weekend concludes on Sept. 11 as the D-backs pay tribute with a 9/11 Salute to Our Everyday Heroes on the anniversary of the tragic events that occurred 10 years ago in New York City, Washington, D.C. and Pennsylvania. The first 15,000 fans in attendance for the 1:10 p.m. game will receive a patriotic D-backs stars and stripes T-shirt, courtesy of Gila River Casinos.
