"Gonzo" played for the Arizona Diamondbacks from
1999-2006 and is best known for his ninth-inning RBI single that beat the New York Yankees in Game 7 of the 2001 World Series. He is Arizona's career leader in
home runs (224), RBIs (774), runs (780), hits (1,337), doubles (310), on-base percentage (.391) and slugging percentage (.529). No player has worn
Gonzalez's No. 20 since he left the D-backs and team officials indicate it could be retired in the future. Gonzo joined the D-backs Front Office in 2009 as Special Assistant to the President and CEO.
One of baseball's best young broadcasters, Daron Sutton
enters his sixth season with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2012 as the club's primary play-by-play announcer on FOX Sports Arizona. Sutton came to the D-backs in
2007 after five years in a similar capacity with the Milwaukee Brewers. During the off-season, he can also be heard on FOX Sports Arizona as the play-by-play
broadcaster for Arizona State's men's basketball games. Sutton is the son of Hall-of-Famer and current Washington Nationals broadcaster Don Sutton.
Name a memorable moment in the history of the Arizona Diamondbacks and Greg Schulte has made the call!
Schulte has been the radio voice of the D-backs since
their inception in 1998. He called his 2000th
D-backs game during the 2010 season. A part of the
Phoenix radio scene since 1979, Schulte has been part
of the broadcast team for nearly every major sports
entity in the Valley. His passion for the game of baseball
comes through in every broadcast and has earned
Schulte praise from fans and fellow broadcasters alike.
Developing under the O'Malley family ownership of the
Dodgers as a young executive in the 1990s, Derrick Hall
learned the value of taking care of the team's fans and
creating culture throughout the organization while
striving to put a competitive team on the field. Now, as
President and Chief Executive Officer of the D-backs,
Hall stands out among his peers within the sports
industry with his exceptional people skills to communicate
with the team's dedicated fan base and by
preaching the core values he established to employees
throughout the D-backs organization.
Kevin Towers was named the third Executive Vice
President & General Manager in club history on
September 22, 2010. Towers was a special assignment
scout for the New York Yankees in 2010 after serving
14 seasons as Executive Vice President & General
Manager of the San Diego Padres from 1996-2009.
Towers joins the Oakland Athletics' Billy Beane and the
San Francisco Giants' Brian Sabean as the fifth
longest-tenured general managers in Major League
Baseball.
