Partner with the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday, August 15, 2009 as we work to raise awareness of ovarian cancer.
Every 37 minutes a woman loses her life to ovarian cancer.
All women are at risk for ovarian cancer. Currently there is no screening test, so roughly 80 percent of women are diagnosed in the late stages when prognosis is very poor. However, if diagnosed early the disease is 90 percent curable.
The Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Arizona works to increase ovarian cancer awareness in the public and medical communities, serving as advocates to increase funding and resources for this disease, and empowering ovarian cancer survivors to "Live Out Loud".
On D-backs Ovarian Cancer Awareness Day, $5 of each ticket purchased through the Awareness Series will be donated back to the Ovarian Cancer Alliance of Arizona. One hundred percent of the funds raised will go towards awareness and educational programs in Arizona.
To learn more about the Alliance or how you can get involved, please visit their website at www.ocaz.org or email them at info@ocaz.org.
