On Friday, June 12, at 6:40 p.m., the Arizona Diamondbacks and The American Cancer Society have teamed up to announce the Inaugural Cancer Awareness Day at Chase Field. Be sure to take advantage of this special offer today. Proceeds from each ticket purchased will be donated back to The American Cancer Society.

The American Cancer Society is helping cancer patients and their families every day through programs, support, education and other services. Everything provided by the American Cancer Society is available to anyone at no charge. Because of the dollars raised at events like the Relay For Life, the American Cancer Society is able to help fund advancements in cancer research, educate the community about the importance of early detection and prevention, speak out to lawmakers about cancer related issues and can provide hope to the newly diagnosed.

A program helping the children in our community is Arizona Camp Sunrise and Sidekicks. This summer camp program allows the kids to be kids, not the kid with cancer. One week is for children who have or have had cancer and one week is for siblings. Camp Sunrise and Sidekicks offers an outdoor camp experience at the R-C Boy Scout Ranch in Payson, including fishing, hiking, crafts, archery, horseback ridding and outdoor games.

Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society signature event. It brings together thousands from around the community, across the United States and even around the world, all for one cause, to celebrate cancer survivors, remember those we have lost and to Fight Back! Teams gather at a local track to raise awareness about cancer but also to raise money to help in the mission of the American Cancer Society.

Participants and volunteers of the Relay For Life are proud to support the Childhood and Family Programs of the American Cancer Society through Arizona Camp Sunrise and Sidekicks by joining with the Arizona Diamondbacks.
