Since 2000, the Arizona Diamondbacks and The Arizona Republic have joined with various public library districts in Maricopa County to present Read, Play, Win, a summer reading program for children and their families. The Read, Play, Win, summer reading program is a way to encourage summer reading by rewarding participants with different prizes for reading. Just for signing up for the program, children will receive one (1) free ticket to a D-backs game at Chase Field! To participate, go to www.SummerReadingAZ.com or visit your public library in any of the following Maricopa County districts: Apache Junction, Chandler, Glendale, Peoria, Phoenix, Scottsdale and Tempe.
The Arizona Diamondbacks are proud to support the Rodel Foundation of Arizona. Through various Rodel Initiatives, the Rodel Foundation of Arizona enables a team of leaders, concerned citizens and key educators, working in partnership with others, to bring about greatness in our public schools. To show support, the D-backs are proud to honor Rodel teachers and principals at Chase Field, on the field prior to a game. The Arizona Diamondbacks are honored to work with United Blood Services, sponsoring their High School Challenge Program and supporting their Save Our Summer Blood Drive, Community Awareness Day and other initiatives. With 182 high schools holding blood drives during the 2009-2010 school year, the UBS High School Challenge Program saw nearly an astonishing 25,0000 blood donations made at high school blood drives last year. Participating high schools who contributed in the greatest of ways are honored each year at Chase Field, during a ceremony on the field prior to a game.
